Aftercare for the art world’s engine.
After two decades of working with artists and their dealers, we have found that the most vital members of our ecosystem are often undersupported—particularly as they become more successful.
We have secured under-the-radar residencies and grants for increased experimentation; supported business plan and accountancy restructuring; and been hands-on producer-curators of multidisciplinary projects from root to finissage.
Part doula-part consigliere, we live to surface buried hopes and schemes.
As art historians, we sit with artists in their studios at length, sparking new paths of research and sharing wisdom from our established ecosystem of patrons, curators, and financial advisors. For artists both with and without representation, we pair with gallerists and studio managers to better the system holistically. Life Imitates favours cooperation over competition, and a mindset of collaboration over scarcity, at work and in life.
